Adele, the renowned singer, is set to embark on a daring new chapter in her career, transitioning from the stage to the silver screen. The film, currently in pre-production, will be released in fall 2026 and features a stellar cast of Hollywood stars, including Adele herself. Joining her on the screen will be the likes of Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ciarán Hinds, and many more. The story follows the life of Guido Maffeo, a Venetian noble who, after being castrated at age six, enters the conservatory and becomes a renowned opera singer. However, his voice eventually fails him, leading him to become a teacher in search of a student who can fulfill his lost dream.
Tom Ford, the renowned designer, will direct, produce, and self-finance the project through his production company, Fade To Black. This marks his third directorial venture, following the critically acclaimed 'Nocturnal Animals' (2016) and 'A Single Man' (2009).
Adele's interest in acting was hinted at in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where she expressed her desire to pursue other creative endeavors. She mentioned a specific film project she's passionate about, but the director hasn't yet written the script. Adele also ruled out biopics, stating that they are too obvious and would sound like a copy of the original artist's voice.
This marks a significant shift for Adele, who has previously only appeared in a few on-screen roles, including Saturday Night Live and a cameo on Ugly Betty.
