💲 The IKEA Markus chair at $169 is a strong value, especially when stacked with the $35 off $120 meal coupon, lowering the price to $134.
🍽️ To utilize the coupon, members must buy a main entree at the IKEA restaurant and use the coupon the same day for in-store purchases. Some shoppers noted success using discarded coupons from others.
🪑 While many praise the chair's comfort and 10-year warranty, the non-adjustable armrests are a frequent complaint, leading some to remove them or buy aftermarket solutions.
🛋️ Seat cushion durability is inconsistent, with some experiencing bottoming out; replacing the foam is a suggested workaround.
🔄 Alternatives such as the IKEA Millberget or used high-end chairs like Teknion Contessa and SteelCase Leap V2 are discussed for those seeking different features or budgets.

How does the $35 coupon work? Do i need to order thr meal at checkout or from the restaurant. If from the restaurant, is there a min spend or can I get the cheapest item and get the coupon?. Thanks

You just need to purchase a main entree at the restaurant

As a tall and heavy guy I highly recommend this chair. The only thing that I don't really like are the non adjustable armrests.

And then does the coupon automatically apply or do i get a code? Would something like the fish and chips work? Sorry asking you a lot of questions because I wasn't aware of this deal or how it works.

You get a coupon receipt when you order the food, which you can then use to order the items

In a nutshell, IKEA Family members purchase the special, a second/extra receipt is printed for them for the $25/75 or $35/120 discount. Most people just throw them away (because they are only interested in the 50% off meal deal). If you are in a rush (or not hungry or both) you can technically just ask someone for their discarded discount voucher/receipt and save yourself a bit of time and money. I've done this a couple of times last year. I just didn't feel like waiting for 30mins during the mad dinner time rush (of purchasing food just for the voucher).

I usually remove arm rests from chairs if they don't adjust well.

There’s also a PC Optimum points offer for 15000 PC points for every $150 spent on IKEA gift cards you could stack with the meal coupon discount.
Edit: also GCs can be used for your meal to get the coupon.

I flipped my armrest upside down, so I won't have empty holes on the side of the chair, and won't have the ridgid armrest in the way, as I play guitar.

To piggy back on this question, is there a timeframe that you have to buy the entree?

I have one, the older pleather version, it's OK. Planning to scrap mine. Had it for 10+ years, leather peeled, replaced the foam few years ago but it has now developed a creak I couldn't fix, and the gas strut randomly loses height.
It lasted that long so I guess it did its job, lol.

I would like to add that, the armrest is a bit too tall. I've jammed it under the desk so many time and ripped up the padding.
In the end, I had to find some 3d print to lower the height by like 1.5inch.
I wish they can come up with gen 2 with adjustable armrest that's interchangeable to 1st gen.

I have another one:
https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/millberget ... 7/#content
On sale, too, for $149.99 if you are an Ikea Family Member, and then use $35 off coupon to get it for $114.99. Available in black, brown, and beige.

I believe you have to buy the entree and use the coupon on the same day.

Best chair ever! Have it since pandemic, can't recommend enough. As other mentioned, I removed the armrest to have it fit under my desk. Wife just bought one and she loves it also.
